Remembering God’s Goodness and Faithfulness

On August 25, 2026, 2819 Church invited its community to a guided Scripture reflection with Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell, centered on Psalm 100:5. Read the full psalm below, then take a few minutes to reflect on its invitations to worship, gratitude, and trust.

Psalm 100 · King James Version

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

A reflection to carry into your day

Read the psalm slowly. Notice how it moves from an invitation to worship toward the reasons for gratitude: God made us, cares for us, and remains faithful.

  1. What phrase or idea from the psalm stands out to you?
  2. Where have you experienced goodness, care, or faithfulness? Write down one specific example.
  3. Is there an area where trusting God feels difficult right now? Bring it honestly into prayer.
  4. Think of someone who may need encouragement. Pray for them, then choose one concrete act of kindness or gratitude.
